In June 2025, ICE raids in Los Angeles targeted homes and workplaces as part of a nationwide effort to deport undocumented immigrants, sparking fear and criticism for their harm to families.

the brief.

In response, Mayor Karen Bass launched a social media campaign called “Stop the Raids” to reflect the city’s commitment to protecting all its communities and standing against fear and dehumanization.

To highlight the message of "Stop The Raids," I illustrated a Hispanic florist standing in front of his shop and an Asian woman who works at a clothing store, standing outside her workplace in Santee Alley, one of the areas impacted by the ICE raids. The artwork is a tribute to the vital role immigrants play in shaping the culture and economy of Los Angeles. Deportations must be handled with dignity and humanity. These raids were unjust and caused lasting harm to families and communities.
