Be The People is a 10-year-call to action encouraging everyday people to show up for their communities through care, creativity, and action.
The campaign invited creators to respond to the song “Gotta Be Us” in their own style.

I created this salon artwork as my visual remix of “Gotta Be Us” for the Be The People campaign.
When I listened to the song, I thought about the everyday people who help us feel like ourselves again. For me, that looked like the salon. It is a place where care, confidence, conversation, and community all come together.
This piece celebrates the small ways people show up for one another and the power we have to create change through everyday care.

For the video, I wanted to show the full process behind my visual remix of “Gotta Be Us.”
The video follows the illustration from sketch to final reveal.
At the end of the video, I revealed the finished artwork and invited viewers to join the Be The People Open Call by listening to the song, creating their own response, and submitting with #BeThePeopleOpenCall for a chance to be considered for mentorship opportunities.
